German Insurance Law: Insurance contracts in Germany are governed by the Insurance Contract Act (VVG - Versicherungsvertragsgesetz). It gives consumers a statutory right of withdrawal: 14 days for most insurance contracts (Sec. 8 VVG) and 30 days for life insurance (Sec. 152 VVG).
