A comparison calculator does the groundwork for you. You enter a few details and the calculator ranks the offers. Whether the cheapest tariff is genuinely the best one for you still depends on your situation. A lower deductible costs more each month but often pays off if you make a claim. A longer fixed-rate period on a mortgage costs more but protects you if rates rise later.
That is why a short note sits next to each calculator explaining what matters in that category. As a basis, we draw on data from the Bundesnetzagentur, the Deutsche Bundesbank and tests run by Stiftung Warentest. Any commission earned on a contract is disclosed in our Impressum and does not affect how results are ordered.

Open the calculator you need and fill in the required information, such as your postcode and consumption for electricity, or the amount and term you want for a loan.
Check the whole offer, not just the price
Look beyond the headline price at the contract term, the notice period, and for loans, the annual percentage rate. The cheapest tariff is not automatically the right fit.
Sign up directly with the provider
You complete the contract directly with the provider you choose. That is where you provide personal details. Contracts signed online in Germany typically carry a 14-day right of withdrawal.

- Is it free to use?
- Yes. Every calculator on checkeverything.de is free to use and does not require registration. Costs only arise if you go on to sign a contract with a provider, and even then only on the terms that provider states.
- What data do I need for a comparison?
- It depends on the category. For electricity and gas, your postcode and annual consumption in kWh are usually enough. For car insurance you need vehicle and driver details plus your no-claims class. For loans you enter the amount, term and purpose. Providers only collect personal contact details once you apply.
- How current are the rates shown?
- The calculators pull tariffs at the time you run the search. Interest rates, energy prices and insurance premiums change often, so a result from last week can look different today. This overview page reflects the status as of July 2026.
- Does checkeverything earn commissions?
- Yes, in some cases. If you sign a contract through one of our calculators, the provider may pay us a commission. This is disclosed in our Impressum and does not change the order of results or the sources we cite.
- Do I see the whole market?
- No comparison portal covers the entire market. Some providers sell directly and do not work with comparison portals, so they will not appear here. If you want full certainty, request an additional quote directly from a provider and check an independent source as well.
- Are the tools available in English?
- This overview page and the calculators linked from it are presented in English. Some underlying provider forms and the contract documents themselves stay in German, since that is the language of the actual policy or agreement you sign.
